Kinesio-Puncture

Our own pairing of acupuncture and kinesiology taping

A quiet treatment room with a covered table
Kinesio-puncture pairs acupuncture with supportive taping, developed here at One Kinetic.

Kinesio-puncture is a technique developed here at One Kinetic: classical acupuncture paired with kinesiology taping, the stretchy, supportive tape you've seen on athletes. The needles do their work on the table, and the tape keeps supporting the area for days afterward, so the benefit of a session travels with you into training, work, and daily life.

First, plainlyWhat kinesio-puncture actually is

Kinesiology tape is an elastic cotton tape applied along a muscle or joint. Unlike a rigid brace, it supports while you move: it gently lifts the skin, eases pressure on the tissue beneath, and gives the area a constant, low-level reminder of how it should sit. In a kinesio-puncture session, we treat the area with acupuncture first, then tape it with intention, following the same muscles and channels we've just needled.

The pairing is the point. Needling releases and resets the tissue, and the tape holds that release as you return to your life. Treatment stops being something that only happens on the table.

In the roomWhat it actually feels like

The needling feels much like a regular acupuncture session: brief, small sensations that settle quickly while you rest. The taping comes at the end. We position the area, and the tape goes on in smooth, stretchy strips; most people forget it's there within the hour.

The tape is water-resistant and typically stays on for three to five days, holding through showers, workouts, and sleep. We'll show you how to remove it gently when it's done.

Where it helpsWhat people come in for

This approach is especially suited to movement, sport, and orthopedic concerns:

  • Sports injuries, performance, and recovery.
  • Restricted range of motion and joint stiffness.
  • Stubborn muscular pain and trigger points.
  • Post-injury rehabilitation, when movement needs to return safely.
  • Recurring tightness tied to how you train, work, or move.

Across the practiceWhere you’ll find it

Kinesio-puncture is our own technique, and it belongs to our pain and sports recovery care.

HonestlyIs it right for you?

"How is this different from regular acupuncture?"

The session ends differently. After the needling, we tape the treated area so the support continues after you leave. If your concern is about how your body holds up between visits (training, lifting, a physical job), this is often the better fit. If you're unsure, we'll talk it through and choose together.

"Will the tape bother my skin?"

Most people tolerate it well; it's breathable and made for multi-day wear. If you have sensitive skin or a history of reacting to adhesives, tell us and we'll test a small strip first.

"I'm an athlete with a specific issue. Can you work with that?"

Yes, that's exactly what this approach is built for. Come in and walk us through the movement that's bothering you, and we'll assess it directly and build the treatment around it.

"We developed Kinesio-puncture because our patients don't sit still, and their medicine shouldn't either. It's acupuncture built for bodies in motion, refined through years of hands-on work with athletes of every level."
